This was a very interesting post, and even though you’re right in that these insights illuminate a simple concept, acting on them (action following reflection) is very difficult for those of us for whom easy social interactions do not come naturally. So it’s always helpful to read about someone else’s revelations and gain some courage and encouragement that way. (Wow, I seriously did not realize until now that “courage” and “encourage” share a stem.)

On a less abstract note, why does your back hurt? I hope I’m not being too nosy. It’s just that I’ve noticed that my neck hurts sometimes and I’m positive it has to do with working at a desk all day. I’m wondering if other twenty-somethings are having similar problems.

I really thought his transformation was teh heart of the piece, and demonstrates how hard it is to “keep it real” in the moral sense. Maybe I should rewatch. I actually thought the Joker was the least interesting character, and it was just Heath Ledger’s tics that made him stand out (this is somewhat true to the original Joker in the comics, whose backstory is never really fleshed out and isn’t a very deep character, just psychotic).
